Waxing

Your hair should be at least 1/4 inch in length (which makes it long enough to lay flat on your skin). Please don’t shave for at least 3 weeks prior to your appointment to ensure that your hair is long enough!
Lycon is a hot wax formulated with the finest natural and synthetic resins, beeswax and sensuous aromatherapy, lycon delivers superior results, removing stubborn hair as short as 1mm like no other. For intimate waxing such as the Brazilian and Hollywood we use Lycon. We apply a pre-wax gel before, creating a barrier between your skin and wax. The wax will shrink-wrap around your hair meaning removal is efficient and comfortable.
Around 4-6 weeks depending on each individual hair growth. With LYCON nurturing and conditioning waxes, not only will all hair be removed, but hair re-growth becomes finer, softer and waxing lasts 5 weeks or longer.
Yes, but please be aware that being pregnant will make you more sensitive during your wax.
Strip wax, not so quickly, but hot wax will. You should notice after the first wax itself, that your hair grows back finer, patchier, and not as strong rooted. Please remember, it is very important to exfoliate 2-3 times a week and moisturise the area too, for the best results.
It’s best not to as waxing exfoliates skin and so your skin will be too sensitive.
Please note, if you have been sunbathing and have sunburn, just had a hot bath, received electrolysis treatment, microdermabrasion, have been taking steroids (as this thins your skin) or if you are on medication like accutane for acne. If you are on Retin-A or Tetracycline medication your skin is also more sensitive, you may not be able to receive waxing as this is a contra indiacation. Also, please let us know if you have been using any topical face acid such as Salicylic, Glycolic acid and AHA peeling solution.

Massage

Indian head massage is a treatment that focuses on massaging acupressure points along the head, neck, and shoulders, often using circular massage strokes to improve hair and scalp condition. The aim of Indian head massage is to release tension in the muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. Indian head massage can also help with relieving fatigue, insomnia, headaches, and sinusitis.
This depends on the type of massage and the depth of the strokes. A light, relaxing massage that doesn’t probe very deep into the muscles, shouldn’t hurt. With that being said, there is a ‘feels good’ hurt and an ‘ouch, stop it’ hurt. A good massage, even a really deep tissue massage, should always stay in the ‘feels good’ hurt range. Pain can be an indication that the muscle is possibly injured or inflamed, and pressure should be adjusted. Also, pain can cause you to tighten up and negate the relaxing effects of the massage. The most effective and deepest massage always works with your body’s natural response, not against it.
The saying “no pain, no gain” doesn’t necessarily apply to massage therapy. There’s no rule (or science, for that matter) that says your massage must be painful for it to benefit you. There are times when deep tissue massage might be beneficial, but there are other times when your body might respond better to moderate or even gentle pressure. As always, it’s best to listen to your body!
It depends on the surgery, and it depends on the massage treatment you want to have, but a massage may be a very good idea. Studies have shown that massage therapy after cardiac surgery significantly reduced patients’ pain, anxiety, and muscular tension. There are some treatments you might not be able to have, so mention your surgery before you book. Recent surgery may well mean that you must avoid massage in that specific area, too. Many spas provide health information on their websites or in their printed literature which tells you in advance which treatments you should not have if you have a specific health concern. Check with your doctor, too. If you have an old scar and your condition is stable, there should be no problem. If you feel awkward about having a scar, remember this: your therapist has seen it all before.

Nails

This is a very complex question, everything depends on how the gel polish is applied and removed, how often you get the treatment done, and what quality the products are that you use. At the H:room, we never use drills to remove gel polish, and if you have Biosculpture or Evo gel, the acetone is infused with almond oil to protect the skin and nail plate during removal. We have four different types of gel. The first two are classic gel polishes, with DND gel lasting around 2 weeks, and Jessica Geleration lasting 3 weeks. Both are good quality gels but don’t do anything to improve your natural nail health. The next one up is Evo conditioning gel, lasting 3-4 weeks and enriched with vitamins and minerals which are integrated in the base coats and also applied after nail prep. Combine this with the almond oil that is used during removal, and your nails stay healthy with almost zero damage to the nail plate, and with time, stronger and healthier nails. Finally, if you have damaged, weak, brittle nails, Biosculpture gel overlays will strengthen, protect, and repair pervious damage, with time and regular treatments. Here at the H:room we never use E-files or drills on the nail plate or to remove gel polish.
Bio Sculpture is applied directly over the natural nail, much like a polish and mimics the natural movements and flexibility of the client’s nails, keeping nails perfectly protected with a non-chip colour finish. There is no drying time with Bio Sculpture as it is cured under a Safety Tested LED lamp. There is minimal buffing to prepare the natural nail and there are no primers, dehydrators or pH balancers needed. Nails can also be Extended using tips or forms, and as it is a soak off product, you can have them removed or infilled, without any damage.
Bio Sculpture is a very different product to other gels and hybrid gel polishes, the main difference being that Bio Sculpture will not cause any damage to the natural nails. Most gel systems on the market are acrylic based and cannot be removed without damaging the natural nail. The other difference of our system compared to others on the market is that there is no need for primers or dehydrators for the gel to adhere to the natural nail. The new hybrid formulas are somewhere between acrylic Builder gel. They are durable, but not nearly as long-lasting as Bio Sculpture, and can make your nails weak over time.
Yes! Our Evo Conditioning Gel polish is prayer-friendly. It is the only “breathable” gel polish in the market, making it an ideal option for Muslim women who require water-permeable formulas that are permissible (according to some schools of Islamic thought) for ablution and prayer.

HD Brows - Lash Extensions

Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic enhancement in which a technician meticulously applies individual lash extensions to your natural lashes. Express lashes are applied on almost all the lashes, and the technician will concentrate on the areas that are sparser. Unlike traditional false lashes, which are applied as a strip, lash extensions are adhered one by one to create length, fullness, and colour. Natural express lashes are lighter and more natural looking, and volume lashes are fuller but not overly dramatic. If you wish for more volume, you can pay for additional time.
Eyelash extensions typically last for several weeks, with the exact duration depending on the growth cycle of your natural lashes and your aftercare routine. On average, our express eyelash extensions can last between two to four weeks. However, to maintain the fullness of your lashes, it’s recommended to get touch-ups or lash infills every two weeks.
When applied and removed correctly by a trained professional, eyelash extensions are safe and do not cause any harm to your natural lashes. However, it’s essential to ensure that the technician performing the procedure is experienced and uses high-quality products. Additionally, proper aftercare and regular maintenance are crucial to keeping your lashes healthy.
For express lashes, 1 hour 5 minutes, and for volume lashes 1 hour 45 minutes. You can also add on extra time for an even fuller set of lashes.
Yes, you can wear makeup with eyelash extensions, but it’s important to choose products that are specifically formulated for use with lash extensions. Avoid oil-based or waterproof makeup, as these can weaken the adhesive bond and cause the lashes to fall out prematurely. Avoid using mascara, as this can cause the extensions to clump together and removing the mascara can damage your lashes. Opt for oil-free and water-based makeup products and be gentle when removing your makeup to prevent damage to the extensions.

To keep your eyelash extensions looking their best, follow these tips:

a) Avoid rubbing or pulling on your lashes.

b) Keep your lashes clean and dry.

c) Avoid using oil-based products on your lashes.

d) Use a lash brush to keep your lashes looking neat and tidy.

e) Get fills every 10 days to 2 weeks to maintain your lashes.

Microdermabrasion

No, microdermabrasion does not hurt. You may feel a mild discomfort, but most patients compare the treatment to a gritty facial massage or they feel minor tugging on their skin.
Yes, microdermabrasion can help to get rid of blackheads. The treatment loosens the dead skin on your face and removes the top part of blackheads. Over the course of your treatments, the blackheads will be removed along with the dead skin and excess oil that cause the blackheads.
After the treatment, the skin may feel tight, feel dry and have mild redness. Therefore, it is important that you use a good moisturiser. These effects normally subside within 36 hours of treatment.
We recommend a course of four to six treatments; however, your therapist will talk this through with you following your initial consultation. People with acne or acne scarring might need more treatments and we recommend a maintenance treatment every one/two months, after each course has finished to help maintain the results achieved.
You will see results immediately and with each subsequent treatment your skin will continue to look progressively better.
Crystal microdermabrasion uses a stream of sterile crystals, that are very unlikely to cause any skin irritation. Your therapist will provide a patch test on the back of your forearm for added reassurance. You should also ensure you use the recommended aftercare products and follow the aftercare advice.
